Red Spot Operative

This game was made over one week for the Brackeys 2024.2 Game Jam - We recommend playing in fullscreen for best immersion :)

WELCOME OPERATIVE

You have been assigned the task of operating agents on a gas extraction site in the gas plains of Jupiter - operate remotely from your terminal in the atmosphere above your site, meet quota and keep your tools and agents safe from the Great Red Spot

The loop for the game is simple:

• Send agents to drill locations on site
• Have agents mine at the drills
• Bring agents back to HOME_BASE
• Have agents deposit to meet quota

You interact with agents and the other resources on the station via your terminal by executing commands. You can type 'help' at any time to get a list of all available commands but here the key ones:

• Inspect [type] [name]
  • This will give you information about a resource of a given type including its state, location, current action and more! Available resource types include: AGENT, TOOL and LOCATION
• List [type]
  • This will give you a list of all the resources for the given type you've provided
• Execute [agent] [command]
  • This allows you to execute commands on your agent. Agents have their own unique list of commands which can be viewed by running 'execute [agent] help' in the same way as if you were just running a command direct to the terminal.

Look out for the storm!

Jupiter's Great Red Spot traces a path directly through the mining site - any agents outside of HOME_BASE during a storm will be in danger of damages. Damaged once an agent can be repaired but if it goes offline, it won't be coming back. Use the gauge in the bottom right panel to predict when the next storm will hit and make sure your agents are kept safe to keep from being terminated - Good luck, Operative!
